Attention artists and want-to-be artists!

tree-in-springBRMCA is also hosting a FUNdraiser  Sunday March 6th at 1:00pm. This exciting workshop is called Paint-out by Wine, Nibbles & Scribbles with instructor Kathy Strauss.

Kathy is a well-known area working artist, scientist, and mother. She is an associate artist in Gallery 902 at the Workhouse Arts Center in Lorton, VA where she exhibits her work and is an instructor through the Workhouse Institute & ArtStar camps.  Kathy, her husband, and 15 year old son live in Baltimore. She earned her degree in Art from Westminster College (Pennsylvania) and has been making and exhibiting both fiber art and works on paper for over 25 years. She has shown work in many Baltimore area venues including Maryland Art Place, the Creative Alliance, and at Baltimore’s annual arts festival ArtScape. She has also exhibited work in Pittsburgh, Washington, DC and New York. Her work has been included in various publications such as Link, A Critical Journal on the Arts in Baltimore and the World and she has worked with the staff at the Baltimore Museum of Art in Baltimore, and the Textile Museum in Washington, DC demonstrating and lecturing on fiber art techniques.

Everything will be provided, canvas, paint, brushes, aprons, easel, and appetizers Absolutely no painting experience is necessary, Kathy will give step-by-step instructions. So come, bring a friend, kick off your wintertime blues and fire up your creative side. Maximum of 30 people, registration is on a first come basis.  This is starting to fill up, so please register soon.

Wear appropriate clothing for painting, bring a sense of humor and perhaps your favorite bottle of wine.
