It’s that time of the year again that we start thinking of snow events on the mountain and how the roads will be plowed and maintained.
It seems like every year has a different set of road conditions that we have to deal with. One year it is ice storms, the next year 2 feet of snow overnight. In every case, we try to get the roads drive-able as fast as the weather and our resources permit.
The BRMCA roads coordinator works with Prince William County Public Works and their contractor on an hourly basis leading up to and during a snow event to address roads issues. But, we can’t do it without help from the community.
BRMCA has a Winter Roads phone number that will take your message and automatically notify the Roads Committee members of those messages. During and after a snow event, we will be monitoring those messages around the clock, seven days a week to make sure those concerns are addressed, prioritized and transmitted to the county and the plowing contractor.
Residents can notify us two ways during a snow event:
- Send an email with a roads request to email@example.com ( This email address includes BRMCA directors, members, and non-members. As such, this email does reflect official BRMCA board of directors communication. )
- Call and leave a message at 703-753-3024. Make sure that you leave your name, address, phone number and road issue that you are calling about.
There is a temptation to use other forms of social media, like Facebook or Twitter, to notify us of road conditions. However, because there are so many different channels these days,
and not all residents use them, the methods above are the official ways to notify us of road issues.
