17 July 2010 President's Report   The Board of Directors has begun planning for the September Annual Meeting, which will be held this year on Monday, September 13th at 8 pm at the Clubhouse.  While the meeting itself isn't that big of an event, we will be counting ballots for the annual election.  At the monthly board of directors meeting on 11 July, the nominating committee announced that the following BRMCA members have been nominated for election.  They are Alan Bratburd,  Sara Craig, Glenn Cruickshank, James Foster, Charles Phucas, James Price, Paul Scheingold, Dan Stapelton and Jane Sudol.   The board has also been working on revising the BRMCA Articles of Incorporation and the BRMCA Bylaws.  The bylaws were last revised in 1978, so they were due for an update, if for only to correct some anachronisms.  For instance, the bylaws called for notificiation to board members by telegram.  I don't know if it's even possible to send one anymore.  We also changed some details about membership requirements, email notifications, dealing with the loss of a board quorum, processing dues, creating a BRMCA web site and notification of board activities by posting to the web site.  Copies of the revised proposed Articles and Bylaws are posted to the website in the Archives / BRMCA Documents Folder, as well as a detailed description of the changes to the articles and bylaws and copies of the original Articles and Bylaws.  Members of the BRMCA can review these proposed changes and make any comments (by emailing the board) prior to the next board meeting, which will be on August 1 at 6 p.m. at the clubhouse. Election ballots will be mailed out to paid members of the BRMCA on or about August 7th, and they must be either return-postmarked by September 7th or brought to the annual meeting in person.  Mountain residents who wish to vote in the election but who have not paid dues for 2010 can pay their dues before August 12th and still get a ballot.  Dues can be mailed to the BRMCA at POBox 374, Haymarket, VA 20168.   The Road Committee reports that just about all the potholes on BRMCA-owned mountain roads have been repaired, and the resurfacing of North Lookout is nearly complete.  The Treasurer reported that all current bills have been paid.   Have a great summer.   Glenn Cruickshank, President
